Step One
Get your oven preheated by setting it to 350 degrees. This way it will be completely ready to go when your cookie dough is made.
Gather together a mixing bowl, stand mixer, softened butter and sugar. To soften butter simply let it sit on your counter for a few hours before starting your cookies. If you don't have time or just can't wait to get your cookies started then you can pop your butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Make sure to check it regularly so that it doesn't start to melt.
Beat together your butter and sugar with your stand mixer. You'll want to set it on high so that the butter gets creamed with the sugar completely this should take a few minutes.
Step Two
Once you've completely creamed together your butter and sugar you want to add your eggs and vanilla extract to it. Again using your stand mixer mix all four ingredients together. This time set your stand mixer on medium instead of high.
Step Three
Now you want to mix together flour, salt and baking soda in a separate bowl. Once you've added all three to your bowl you want to stir them together so that they are mixed.
Pro tip: if you want a little extra to your Reese's Pieces cookies, instead of making regular cookie dough you can make chocolate cookie dough or peanut butter cookie dough.

Step Four
Now that you have separately mixed your wet ingredients in one bowl and your dry ingredients in another bowl you need to get all the ingredients together. You want to do this by slowly adding your dry ingredients to the mixing bowl with your wet ingredients.
Once again you can use your stand mixer this time set it low to mix your ingredients together. If you don't want to use a stand mixer here you can also mix your ingredients together with a spoon or spatula by hand. Make sure that all the ingredients including anything left on the sides of the bowl are thoroughly mixed together.
Step Five
Let's get the Reese's Pieces added in! Go ahead and add these to your mixing bowl full of cookie dough. Using a spoon or spatula fold your Reese's Pieces into the cookie dough by hand.
Step Six
Now you want to form balls with your cookie dough and place them on a baking sheet. I like to make sure that I'm using either a nonstick or pre greased baking sheet so that I can easily get the baked cookies off without breaking them apart.
For the balls of cookie dough, use heaping tablespoons and form it into tightly packed balls. I like to aim for about 1.5 tablespoons of cookie dough per cookie. You can certainly make your cookies as big or small as you like, but just remember this may affect cooking time.
Step Seven
Now take your baking sheet and put it in your oven. Your cookies should take approximately 8 to 12 minutes to bake. set a timer to start at 8 minutes and then check them regularly until they are done.
Your cookies should be ready to remove from the oven when they're baked through the middle and the edges are crispy and slightly brown. Make sure to let your cookies cool before eating.
